Clinch Cultivate Chukka Boot Brown
Clinch has become world-renowned for the artisanal quality with which founder Minoru Matsuura designs and crafts each style in the company's lineup.
Built around unique wooden lasts carved by hand, Clinch aims to recreate the build and style of 1940's boots from the ground up. All components are carefully sourced to create a boot that stands apart.
The Clinch Cultivate Chukka finds its origins in a rare pair of original CC41 British Utility Boots from 1941, owned by London-based vintage dealer and collector 19UJ Militaria.
Carefully studied for their proportions, construction, and understated durability, these wartime boots provided the foundation for the design. The Cultivate Chukka reinterprets the practical elegance that defined British utility footwear, preserving the character of the original while adapting it through Clinch's renowned approach to bootmaking. From its distinctive silhouette to its thoughtfully considered structural details, every element reflects the purposeful simplicity and craftsmanship associated with the CC41 standard -a wartime initiative established to ensure well-made, resource-conscious products without compromising quality.
Built on Clinch's HR-Standard last, initially introduced by Clinch for their Cowboy Boot. The Cultivate Chukka features a structured toe that provides a clean, balanced silhouette while maintaining a comfortable fit.
They have a beautifully sculpted shape, arguably the most distinctive and desired detail of this hand-carved wooden last created by Clinch. The fit is snug, contouring to the foot, with the intent of the leather moulding to the shape of your foot over time.
These feature a block heel, using a reproduction 'O'Sullivan's' Heel Block (O'Sullivan's was an American manufacturer of heels and patented this style in 1899) and tonal stitching throughout.
The upper is crafted from premium Emboss Crown Calf leather, a finish that will gradually reveal rich undertones through years of wear, developing a unique patina that reflects the character and journey of the wearer.
