LFC Tyrone Turquoise Watch Cuff Joe Chee (20mm)

Lowry Family Collection (LFC) represents the life’s work of Joe Dan Lowry, one of the world’s leading authorities on turquoise. A miner, cutter, historian and long-time curator of the Turquoise Museum in Albuquerque, Lowry has spent decades studying the gemstone in its purest form, from the ground it comes from to the hands that shape it.

Every piece in the Lowry Family Collection begins with a single, carefully selected stone. Lowry examines each turquoise specimen for its origin, colour, matrix and natural integrity - knowledge built from years spent working directly in mines and collaborating with mineralogists, geologists and artisans. Only stones that meet his exacting standards become part of the collection.

Handmade in sterling silver, this vintage Navajo watch strap features two natural turquoise stones set in classic Southwestern style. Each side is adorned with hand-worked details - twisted wire, stamped motifs, and sculpted leaf elements, showcasing the depth of craft that defines traditional Native American silversmithing. The adjustable watch cuff is size-free, adjusting to the wearer's wrist size and will fit 20mm lug width.

This turquoise was mined from the historic Tyrone Mine in New Mexico, a rare source near Silver City known for its vivid spectrum of blues and greens, often marked by a warm tan or brown matrix. Once an important American turquoise deposit and now largely inactive, Tyrone material has become increasingly scarce.

This piece is handmade by Native American artisan Joe Chee, making it a truly one-of-a-kind example of American turquoise at its finest.
