Warehouse & Co. X John Gluckow Blanket Pattern Mackinaw Coat Beige

John Gluckow is back creating high quality vintage inspired garments in collaboration with Japan's esteemed Warehouse & Co. A serious vintage collector and expert from America's East Coast, John's collections are inspired by his vintage archive and personal style with close attention to fabric & design.

A true American classic, the Mackinaw coat traces its origins to the early 20th century, where it became a staple of working men, outdoorsmen, and commuters alike. Widely seen in period photographs from the 1920s and 1930s, this style was famously offered through Sears Roebuck & Co. and J.C. Penney catalogs, amongst many others. Characterised by its heavy wool construction, shorter overcoat length, and instantly recognisable shawl collar.

The pattern on this version from John Gluckow is heavily inspired by old Native American blankets and is a cotton/wool Jacquard weave. This reinterpretation stays true to the original Mackinaw designs and features a shawl collar, two patch pockets with flap closure, and button straps on the cuffs to aid fit.
