Y'2 Leather Horse Roughout WWII Jean Jacket Black

Y'2 Leather Horse Roughout WWII Jean Jacket Black

Y'2 Leather are based in Osaka, Japan, and have been in the leather jacket making game for close to fifty years. Specialising in horse, cow & deer hides, they make some exceptional jackets, all handmade in their Osaka studio.

Here we have the HSB-140-T Leather Jacket from Y'2, based on WWII-era Type I denim jackets. The design is pared back, removing traditional details such as the buckle back and rear pleats for a cleaner, more understated silhouette. The leather is a 1mm lightweight reverse horsehide, pretty much requiring no break in what-so-ever! The short nap and fine texture of horsehide give it a smooth, nubuck-like feel, while drum processing infuses the leather with oil, creating an exceptionally soft and supple finish.

Each jacket from Y'2 is stitched in their Osaka studio with great skill, using a fine stitch-count which is extremely hard to achieve on leather manufacturing. This model has been produced with the same sewing techniques as seen on vintage leather jackets to enhance the puckering through the seams creating wonderful, subtle areas of character that run through each garment.

Further details include a single open chest pocket reinforced with classic copper rivets and two internal pockets for practical storage. The front closes with four wreath-and-star donut buttons, and the placket features the traditional double-pleated design. Fully lined with smooth, breathable 100% cupro throughout the body and sleeves, the jacket offers a comfortable, refined feel against the skin.
