Y'2 Leather HVR-42 Horse Single Riders Jacket Black
Y'2 Leather are based in Osaka, Japan, and have been in the leather jacket making game for close to fifty years. Specialising in horse, cow & deer hides, they make some exceptional jackets, all handmade in their Osaka studio.
Here we have the HVR-42 Single Riders Jacket from Y'2, their take on a classic Single Riders style, pared back and classically styled. This jacket is crafted from 1.5mm custom horsehide, dyed in deep black. After dyeing, the leather is finished with a paraffin wax coating, which hydrates the hide and adds a supple, waxy feel. This process softens the leather significantly, giving the jacket a broken-in comfort right from the start. With continued wear, the leather will become even more supple and relaxed over time.
Each jacket from Y'2 is stitched in their Osaka studio with great skill, using a fine stitch-count which is extremely hard to achieve on leather manufacturing. The HVR-42 has been produced with the same sewing techniques as seen on vintage leather jackets to enhance the puckering through the seams creating wonderful, subtle areas of character that run through each garment.
Cut with a standard fit, this jacket features two buckled brass adjustment belts at the rear side seams to aid fit while a Zip front has been paired with a single slanted chest pocket and two hand slash pockets. Inside, a discreet internal pocket provides space for your phone, while the body is lined with a custom brushed cotton flannel for comfort and warmth & the sleeves use a smooth nylon.
